On the first day of my doctoral residency, my cohort was exposed to the idea of future casting. Dr. Valerie Mercer introduced a book titled, “Imaginable,” a modern piece of tech literature and gaming culture that is considered a revelation in future casting and innovation. The book, authored by Jane McGonigal was derived from an American video game designer known for her vast imagination and innovative video games aimed to change the world and challenge preconceived notions about the efficacy of gaming and human interaction.

As I am researching the author, I am inspired by the feats of this tech legend, and I am making a conscious note to order this book as soon as possible.

As I reflect on future casting, I am compelled to begin my own collection of scholarly research, quotes, and literature that may inspire and develop my research needs. I will begin a plan to organize my scholarly research topics, articles, and quotes as suggested by Dr. Sandoval and begin chasing my passion in scholarly research to see where it leads me. I will then develop my own future casting predictions and document the outcome over the years to see how these trends change, and maneuver based on the economy, cultural changes, environment, etc.
